Washer and Dryer Sale
Washer and Dryers
When it comes to appliances it really pays to wait for a sale. Stores like Home Depot, Lowes and Sears often run a 10% off sale on all appliances which would include their washers and dryers.
When your washer or dryer is suddenly broke you may not be able to wait for a good deal.
Sometimes if you just ask for a 10% discount from the department manager they will do that for you.
Washer and Dryer Combos
It may also pay to check the prices of the combo units vs. buying each unit separate.
Not only do you need to keep an eye out for a sale on the washer & dryer you need to watch for specials on the service contracts. Stores will often run a 4 year service plan for the price of the 2 year plan.
Another way to possibly save money is to ask a store where you really want to shop to price match a price or sale at another store in the area.
I have a friend who kept looking and looking at a store until the salesman finally said he had a close out model in the back that he could sell her cheaper. You might just ask if this is the case in a store where you shop
And one final option to save money on your washer and dryer is to select a scratch and dent unit. In out town Sears has a whole scratch and dent department at the service center. There is nothing wrong with the way these units work, they just have a dent or scatch somewhere on the body. Often times these are even on the sides and may not even be noticed after the washer or dryer is slipped into place in your home.
